General Program Objectives


As a result of attending this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Access and apply current scientific evidence and nationally recognized guidelines in screening, diagnosis and/or treatment of reproductive health concerns including basic and complex contraception, STIs and gynecologic cancers;

  2. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in selected clinical procedures including male genitourinary, female pelvic and breast examination techniques; microscopy; endometrial/vulvar biopsy; and IUC insertion;

  3. Discuss evaluation and management of pelvic pain, abnormal gynecologic bleeding, headaches, common dermatologic problems, breast conditions and gynecologic endocrine issues;

  4. Describe creative approaches for improving communication, education, counseling and referrals for clients presenting to a family planning center;

  5. Explore proven and emerging family planning service models to assure regulatory compliance, improve efficiency, maximize reimbursement and enhance service delivery to impoverished, underserved populations; and

  6. List traditional medical, lifestyle and integrative interventions to enhance reproductive life planning, reduce risk for heart and chronic disease and to optimize health and wellness in self and clients.
