General Program Objectives
As a result of attending this activity, participants should be able to:
- Access and apply current scientific evidence and nationally recognized guidelines in screening, diagnosis and/or treatment of reproductive health concerns including basic and complex contraception, STIs and gynecologic cancers;
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in selected clinical procedures including male genitourinary, female pelvic and breast examination techniques; microscopy; endometrial/vulvar biopsy; and IUC insertion;
- Discuss evaluation and management of pelvic pain, abnormal gynecologic bleeding, headaches, common dermatologic problems, breast conditions and gynecologic endocrine issues;
- Describe creative approaches for improving communication, education, counseling and referrals for clients presenting to a family planning center;
- Explore proven and emerging family planning service models to assure regulatory compliance, improve efficiency, maximize reimbursement and enhance service delivery to impoverished, underserved populations; and
- List traditional medical, lifestyle and integrative interventions to enhance reproductive life planning, reduce risk for heart and chronic disease and to optimize health and wellness in self and clients.
